Back again
Oh man - I have been having a moderately crazy time. This morning someone poisoned Sophie (she is the stray cat we rescued last year - we had her spayed as soon as she gave birth, of course, but she still wanders outside a bit). She's going to be fine, but we were frelling scared this morning. She was just incredibly, disturbingly ill, and we rushed her to the vet, where they did all sorts of blood work and then observed her until about 5:00 this evening. She's home now, and she's doing all right, though she's still not eating a lot, and is very subdued. There's been someone in this neighbourhood for years who occasionally poisons cats, and nobody's been able to figure out who. I feel a serious urge to go vigilante on his/her ass. I would wear my leather jacket, and attractive-yet-androgynous make-up, and it would be bad-ass.

Anyway, on to less disturbing topics... I did manage to get a job, which is very helpful financially, and it's a job that I don't mind doing, so that's a bonus too. I have also managed to get housing in Halifax (did I already mention that?). Anyway, I will have two roommates, who hopefully will be sane, or at least insane in ways that are compatible with my own insanity.

My house is currently in slings, as the backyard has been dug up (primarily by me, as my Mum wants to turn it into a garden), the basement is in the middle of being renovated, and the upstairs (where my bedroom is) must be entirely cleared of everything, including furniture, so that people can come and sand the floors. It is insane. I am sitting in the study surrounded by all of my worldly goods, instead of just my laptop and possibly a cat.
