Hey! I'm back! I've written some Heroes fic, but I'm still in the re-reading, re-writing phase. With any luck I'll post it tomorrow. I turned 24 last Wednesday. I am now in my mid-twenties. Oddness! I didn't get the Gold Medal (came second *Grumble, grumble*), but I'm giving the invocation at convocation (which is pleasantly god-free, thus eliminating any need for re-writes, making my life significantly easier. :) ). But anyway, rambling aside... Okay, I don't have much to do but ramble. I will post that Heroes fic soon, too.

Oh! Right! Brainwave: everyone on the planet has to see "Hot Fuzz". It is quite possibly the funniest movie I've seen in years. My opinion of it may have been artificially inflated by the fact that when I saw it I was still slightly out of it from my thesis completion and hadn't seen a film since probably around January, but even with all that, I'm pretty sure it was still awesome.

Also, random minor picspam, because why not.




Me and various people at my birthday (visible in this picture are Rachel in the left foreground, me in the right foreground, Jessie right behind me and David behind Rachel. Danny is next to Jessie, but has cunningly hidden behind my giant head. I should have done a proper group shot, but didn't, and so this is the closest there is. ;p)



Kubla Khan! He will bring your destruction through cute! Also, he totally got a bunch of burrs in his fur lying in that patch. His expression is one of "I just know you're going to insist on combing these out later."

HAPPY VERY BELATED BIRTHDAY! I'm rubbish, I didn't realise it was your birthday :op You look very purty in the pic, though.

Kubla Khan gives me giant kitty wibbles. He's such a gorgeous colour! Is he actually grey, or is that just the light? Beautiful, anyway... he looks terribly pettable :o)

And I am off work this Friday so I am SO getting round to reading all the fic you've posted recently *nods*

Thank you! No worries! I've been so busy that I was definitely not thinking about my birthday much (even most of my friends who are here didn't find out about it until, like, the day before ;p ). And thanks, re: the picture! I like it, as it is one of the only ones from that night in which I appear to have a neck. ;)

I know! He's so ridiculously cute! And he is grey (with a white tummy and paws, and a little stripe of white under his chin), and ridiculously soft. He's absolutely gigantic now, but he was actually the runt of the litter - he was so small that he had trouble nursing and I had to supplement feed him with a tiny, tiny bottle. *Snuggles him*

Awesome. Long weekends are the best thing ever. (And I warn you, both fics I've posted are bizarre, bizarre crack. Also, you so need to see "Heroes" - it's fantastic. :D)

*wibbles* He's gorgeous. I'm getting kitty envy! I can't wait until I can have a cat myself <3

Hey Tessa, sorry for the impromptu message, but I wondered if you could help me in a small mission I'm involved in. I was wondering if it were at all possible for you to supply me some more of your "Creme de la Earl Grey" (if I remember the name properly) as Die loves it and thought that it'd make a good mini pressie for her b'day.

Actually I love it too, but I promise not to nab too much of it!

I can paypal you the cash for the tea and postage, or alternatively, send you cash/cheque/body parts in the post.

If not, no worries. Hope everything is good for you in Lethbridge - glad to hear you've finished for the year! Interestingly enough, whilst we were in Cornwall last week, we came across a graveyard in Launceston that was full of Lethbridges - any connection with your town?

Hey! No problem at all - I had noticed her b-day was coming up, and I was actually planning on sending some stuff anyway (and as my packages tend to include tea, just sending it along to you instead is definitely easy). Don't worry about postage or anything, as it's ridiculously easy (and I still get a major discount on that tea, as I used to work at the tea room that sells it). :) You can e-mail me your address at goldie (dot) girl (at) gmail (dot) com (btw, could you also send me Die's address, as I have spent the last couple of weeks going "gaah, where the hell did I put my address book?"?).

Ooh, there could well be a connection with this Lethbridge (it was probably just founded by someone with that name - how sad is it that I don't actually know when this town is 150 years old, tops?)... When I was little I liked to imagine that it was somehow connected to Colonel Lethbridge Stewart on Doctor Who (*Is geeky*).

Kubla often melts things with his cute - it's quite destructive actually, but he's far too cute for it to be upsetting. *Nodnods*
